What a domain availability result actually tells you
A registration lookup answers whether the queried registry service has a record for that exact name. SeekDom uses RDAP first, then a strict WHOIS fallback when no RDAP service is known. It never treats a timeout, rate limit or ambiguous response as proof that a domain is free.

How the bulk domain checker works
- SeekDom normalizes URLs and internationalized names, rejects invalid DNS labels, removes duplicates and caps each request at 50 names.
- For each top-level domain, it resolves the registry service from the IANA RDAP bootstrap data.
- It performs at most three lookups concurrently. Definitive responses are cached in the application for ten minutes to reduce avoidable registry traffic; unknown responses are not cached.
- Registered records can include a registrar, dates, status codes and name servers when the upstream service publishes them. Personal fields are often redacted.
- You can filter the result set or export the visible facts to CSV. SeekDom does not register names or quote prices.

How do I check several domain names at once?
Paste up to 50 complete domain names, separated by lines, commas, semicolons, or tabs. SeekDom normalizes duplicates, queries the relevant registration service, and groups registered, no-record, and failed lookups.
Does no registration record mean a domain is guaranteed available?
No. It means the registry lookup returned an explicit no-match response. A name can still be reserved, premium-priced, blocked by syntax or policy, or registered before checkout. Confirm availability and price with an accredited registrar.
Does SeekDom use RDAP or WHOIS?
SeekDom uses the IANA bootstrap registry to find an RDAP service first. It falls back to port-43 WHOIS only when no RDAP service is known for the top-level domain.
Why can a lookup return not checked?
A registry can rate-limit a query, time out, reject it, or return an ambiguous response. SeekDom reports that outcome as not checked and never changes a failed lookup into an availability claim.
Are domain searches stored?
SeekDom does not persist domain queries in an application database. The server, network provider, and queried registry can process the name and operational metadata; SeekDom server logs are retained as described in the privacy policy.
