Privacy details

This privacy policy explains how SASU Dynamic Foundries ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use SeekDom.com ("the Site"), in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and French Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 (Loi Informatique et Libertés).

Data We Collect

This Site does not require you to create an account or provide personal information. We may automatically collect the following data when you visit the Site:

• Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution
• Usage data: pages visited, time spent on pages, referral source, date and time of visit
• Domain search queries: the domain names you submit are used for registration-data lookups. Definitive results can remain in a server-memory cache for ten minutes; failed or unknown results are not cached. We do not persist queries in an application database, but the searched domain and your IP may appear in server-side operational logs (12-month retention).

WHOIS / RDAP Registry Servers

When a result is not already in the ten-minute cache, our server uses the IANA bootstrap registry to find the relevant RDAP service and queries it with the domain name. SeekDom falls back to port-43 WHOIS only when no RDAP service is known. Public registration data can be redacted, incomplete or outdated; we do not control its accuracy.

Data Retention

Analytics data is retained for a maximum of 26 months from the date of collection. Server logs containing IP addresses are retained for 12 months for security and legal purposes.

• OVH SAS — Web hosting (France, EU)
• Google Analytics — Website analytics (United States, EU-US Data Privacy Framework)

Cookies

This Site uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — for the following purposes:

• Essential cookies:
  • cookie_consent (first-party) — records your choice on the cookie banner (accepted / refused). Duration: 1 year. Strictly necessary; no consent required.
  • A signed Flask session cookie used for CSRF protection and the limit of five lookup submissions per five minutes for each browser session. Session-scoped; cleared on browser close.
• Analytics cookies: Google Analytics sets identifiers (_ga, _ga_*) to measure site usage. Set only after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. Refusing analytics has no effect on the domain checker.

You can reopen Cookie settings in the footer at any time. Withdrawing analytics consent disables further Google Analytics collection and removes the analytics cookies available to the Site.

Some of our sub-processors may transfer data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). When this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
